Coordination

Coordination is the ability to use different parts of the body together smoothly and efficiently. We look closely at coordination in Occupational Therapy sessions. Our brain and body communication is complex. We work to improve coordination in therapy through a variety of activities and exercises to boost the weaker areas of the brain impacting delayed coordination.

These delays can impact fine motor skills, visual motor skills, use or right and left side of the body, balance, and complex motor skills which are all foundations for things we do in everyday life.

If you have any concerns about how your child is developing in any of these areas of coordination, give us a call to see how we can help!

  • Figure out ways to incorporate physical activities throughout your day! This helps stimulate different muscles in your body. Activities could include walking, cycling, swimming, stretching, dancing, etc.

  • We have the child do so many exercises and games that engage their body and help increase their coordination.
